I used to knit but haven't gotten around to it in years -- I have all sorts of gorgeous yarn that I bought in a fever of ambition (before I started writing), including some hand spun stuff from Uruguay... One of these days.

I've just finished a beginner's knitting class with one of my best friends. "Fever of ambition" -- yes, this exactly! It was so, so hard to restrain myself at the yarn shop that held the class. :)

Yay for seeing clearly!! When were you out of the US and why was it only for 30 minutes?

My parents and I took a road trip thru Texas several years ago and spent some time in Del Rio which is on the Mexican border. We decided to drive into the little border town in Mexico just to say we had. It took us less than 5 minutes to cross into Mexico, we spent about 10 minutes just driving a big loop, and then we had to wait in line for almost 20 mintues to get back into Texas. But, I can say I've been out of the US. :)
